Joshua Tree Engagement Photography: Chelsea & Jeff

Chelsea & Jeff’s engagement pictures were taken in the wonderfully fantastical place that is Joshua Tree!  It was my first time there and you can see some other pictures here.

We first met for lunch at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneer Town.  I love getting to spend time with couples before the shoot.  Besides getting to know them better, it is a GREAT opportunity to catch some in between moments!

Chelsea’s engagement ring was passed down from her grandmother!  I love that.

These next 2 photos are my absolute FAVORITE of the bunch.  Chelsea said something playful as she was getting up and gave Jeff the quickest (and by quick, I mean I had a burger in one hand and didn’t have time to put it down to properly grab and hold my camera) playful kiss.  It is them in a NUTSHELL.

Walking through Pioneer Town.

The town started as a live-in Old West motion picture set, built in the 1940s.  Isn’t that cool?

This photo started as a complete joke but of course Chelsea and Jeff made it cute.  We were trying to do every engagement photo cliche and this was the “back hug.”  Haha.

“Run to each other like you are reunited after 10 years . . .”  Jeff takes direction very seriously.

To the parents of Chelsea & Jeff – Sorry I made your kids play in the street.

Climbing up some boulders to get some really scenic shots!

Everyone was gung ho about hiking and doing whatever it took to get cool photos except Sammie here.  By this time she was over it.

Taking a breather.

Pretty golden hour light!

This was the hardest shot to get and entailed potentially falling off some great heights, but boy was it worth it!

Chelsea & Jeff are considering having their wedding next year back in Joshua Tree!  How NEAT would that be?!

They caught each other and you (CC) caught them. They are both beautiful and love one another……and Gunner too.

Poor Sammie/baby hippo. She looks exhausted.

Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking a
few minutes and actual effort to produce a very good article… but what can I
say… I hesitate a whole lot and never manage to get anything done.

Very nice. I’m planning on shooting there soon. Is it hard to find the rocks and stuff? How far is it from the restaurant?
    Thanks for the tips!

You’ll start seeing the rocks as soon as you drive into the area. Can’t miss ’em. 🙂 We actually didn’t even go into the actual park to take these photos – they are right outside Pioneertown.
