Getting Creative: Why Having the “Right” Equipment Isn’t So Important

It’s not always about having all the best camera, lenses, accessories, or all your equipment on you at all times. Sometimes you gotta make with what you have, and when you don’t focus on what you are lacking, you get better results.

I took this photo for musician Caro Pierotto during a recording session. It was dark in the studio and I didn’t have flash. There was a lamp in the corner of the room, so I took the shade off and tilted it toward me on a chair to give backlight.

You don’t need a bunch of fancy equipment. Be efficient with your creativity. 🙂
