Someone asked me the other day what the secret is to being a great photographer.
My answer is – When people look at one of your photos and can tell what you were feeling when you took it.
One of my besties sent this photo to me today (she’s a photographer too). From a technical/spacial point of view, this is not the best photo ever taken of me, but I can see the way she sees me, and based on the framing and millisecond she pressed the shutter (not just this photo but any photo she takes of me), I can tell that she loves me very much.
People pick up on connection. Open your heart and when you press the shutter, feel it.
P.S. Carla Choy – Thanks for being a great friend, and for loving me.
